Sales of existing homes in Greensboro rose 25 percent in March, according to data released by the Greensboro Regional Realtors Association.
In all, 447 homes were sold last month, up from 357 homes in March 2009.

Home prices fell slightly however. The average price of a home was $144,471 in March, down 2 percent from $147,878 a year earlier.
Realtors association President Bill Guill attributed the increase both to better weather and to buyers hoping to take advantage of a federal home buyer tax credit which expires at the end of April.
