In 2014, North Carolina was ranked No. 3, having moved up from the No. 4 spot it held the prior year. In this year’s list, North Carolina leapfrogged North Dakota, which went from No. 2 to No. 4.
North Carolina drew high marks for attracting more new facilities and expansions in 2014 than any other state, including Novo Nordisk’s $1 billion investment in its Johnston County facility and Interactive Intelligence’s plans to create 200 new jobs in Durham.
